Katie Brown

Katie Brown grew up under a rock — literally. She started rock climbing professionally at age 15 and is a 3-time X-Games Gold Medalist, a 2-time Arco International gold medalist, a World Cup gold medalist, and won every US National that she entered. She was the first woman to onsight 5.13d and flash 5.14a and was the first person to onsight the Regular Northwest Face of Half Dome. She is the winner of the National Outdoor Book Award. She left climbing in her late twenties to become a mom. After the birth of her daughter, she went back to school to become a bridal makeup artist and hair stylist, and has now been working in that field for over ten years and has worked over 500 weddings. When not working, she can be found running on trails with her dogs, drinking coffee and listening to an audiobook, or hiking/road-tripping/playing on the river with her family.
