We respect your privacy. Our only use of cookies is for site analytics, and only if you allow it.- We do not run ads on the site
- We prohibit advertising or marketing cookies
- We do not set any cookies of our own
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or similar directly identifying information
- We do not share or sell any personal information
We do use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage. GA4 is important to our review work, but it is optional: it runs only if you choose “Allow” in our cookie banner.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a web server sends to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a "device") so the website can remember information about your browsing activity. Cookies help us analyze how our site is used and provide a better reader experience.
Cookies we use
We use cookie technologies for one sole purpose: aggregate website analytics through Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
To distinguish sessions and returning visitors, Google sets first-party cookies containing a randomly generated identifier. That identifier is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or similar directly identifying details. GA4 does not log or store IP addresses — a visitor's IP is used only momentarily to estimate coarse location (city/region/country) and is then discarded. This is GA4's default behavior. We use the resulting data to understand aggregate behavior, such as which pages are viewed and for how long, to improve the site and measure its effectiveness.
_ga cookie
- Provider: Google Analytics
- Purpose: Distinguishes unique visitors
- Typical expiry: ~2 years
_ga* cookie
- Provider: Google Analytics
- Purpose: Maintains session state
- Typical expiry: ~2 years
These cookies are only set after you choose “Allow.” Until then, no analytics cookies are placed on your device.
Managing your choice
You control analytics through our cookie banner. Until you choose “Allow,” GA4 runs in a consent-denied mode that does not set the “_ga” cookie or identify you. If you “Decline,” it stays off. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in our footer.
You can also:- Block or remove cookies through your web browser settings (the Help menu in most browsers explains how to manage, delete, or disable cookies).
- Opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
- Visit http://www.aboutcookies.org for general guidance on managing cookies across different browsers.
International data transfers
Google Analytics is provided by Google. Data collected through GA4 may be processed by Google in the United States and other countries. Where this involves transferring personal data out of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, Google relies on safeguards such as its certification under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and the UK extension) and Standard Contractual Clauses. You can review Google's privacy practices in the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Your privacy rights
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA or the UK, our legal basis for setting analytics cookies and the related processing is your consent, which we request through our cookie banner before any non-essential cookie is set. You may withdraw that consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link, and withdrawing is as easy as granting it. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.
Under the GDPR you have the right to:- Access the personal data we process about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because GA4 data is keyed to a pseudonymous identifier rather than your name or contact details, we may be unable to identify your specific data without additional information from you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you certain rights regarding your personal information.
The only personal information we collect through this site is the analytics data described above, which may fall into these CCPA categories:- Identifiers — the randomly generated Google Analytics identifier
- Internet or other electronic network activity — pages viewed, time on page, and similar usage information
- Geolocation data — coarse, city/region-level location derived momentarily from your IP
We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we do not sell or share your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising. We run no advertising and prohibit advertising and marketing cookies.
As a California resident you have the right to:- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
- Request access to or deletion of your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do not sell or share it)
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (note: we do not collect any)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
We honor browser-based opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) where applicable. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below.
