Our Verdict
Our Analysis and Test Results
This product from Omega Nutrition Center is a big, burly juicer with heavy-duty construction and seems more durable than most other juicers we tested. It isn't the most stylish appliance out there, but it gets the job done — and you can even make noodles or sorbet with it!
Juice Quality
The Nutrition Center scored exceptionally well for its top-notch juicing performance.
It made excellent blended juice drinks, creating beverages that were incredibly rich in flavors, balanced, and great tasting overall. The juices had vibrant colors that matched the original produce, and the beverage stayed very homogeneous and didn't immediately separate.
There were still some small amounts of pulp present, and our mixtures were a little foamy, but the Nutrition Center is, hands-down, our go-to when it comes to making juice cocktails.
Soft Produce
This appliance knocked it out of the park when juicing apples, having one of the highest yields of the entire group. There was essentially zero pulp and no separation, with only a quarter-inch or so of foam at the top of the glass.
The Nutrition Center also did a fantastic job at juicing oranges, generating tons of juice — well above the average amount — with only mild amounts of pulp.
The celery juice this juicer created was dark green with very little foam and no separation, but the overall yield was relatively average. It did worse with the cucumbers, yielding an amount decently below the group average.
Hard Produce
Overall, the Nutrition Center performance left a little to be desired when it came to juicing hard produce. Unfortunately, we found that this appliance generally yielded a below-average amount of juice. This is the only area where the Omega struggled.
The carrot juice made by the Nutrition Center only had trace amounts of pulp and no foam, but it yielded about 15mL less juice than the average amount produced by the group of juicers in this review. Our beet juice also had very little foam but had more pulp than the carrot juice, with the yield being about 20mL below average.
The Nutrition Center performed very similarly in our sweet potato tests, again yielding about 15mL less juice than average. The juice had a tiny bit of foam and mild to moderate pulp.
Leafy Greens
While the Omega Nutrition Center might not have done the best at juicing hard produce, its performance rebounded considerably in our leafy greens metric. This juicer earned one of the top scores of the entire group, determined after juicing wheatgrass, kale, and spinach — all of which are notorious for being much more difficult to juice than other types of produce.
The Nutrition Center got off to a fantastic start when it came to juicing wheatgrass, generating one of the highest yields of the entire group of juicers that we tested. It also did exceptionally well when it came to juicing spinach, yielding an amount of juice that was well above average, though this juice did have about a half-inch of foam at the top of the glass.
However, it faltered a little bit with the kale. We wouldn't go so far as to say it struggled with this cruciferous vegetable, but it generated just a little bit less juice than average.
Cleaning
The Nutrition Center includes a quality brush that should last and is relatively easy to clean. We found it is usually easier to soak the filter than clean it if the pulp dries on. The auger is phenomenally easy to clean and produce pulp hardly ever accumulates anywhere too tricky to reach. Also, the components that need washing are top-rack dishwasher safe, which is handy.
Should You Buy the Omega Nutrition Center?
If you are looking for an A+ masticating juicer that is truly the best of the best, then you are going to want to check out the Omega Nutrition Center. It does a great job juicing soft produce and leafy greens without being a pain to clean. If you're serious about juicing, we're serious about recommending this juicer. If you're fully committed to juicing every day and want an excellent appliance that will last, this one will pay for itself over the long run.
What Other Juicer Should You Consider?
While we think the Nutrition Center is a phenomenal product, it isn't necessarily the best bet if you are shopping on a budget. It pairs its top-notch performance with a high-end price, so budget-conscious shoppers might want to consider some other options. The Breville Juice Fountain would be our top choice if you prefer a centrifugal machine over a masticator.
