Our Verdict
The Frida Baby 3-in-1 is pricey, but also one of the most accurate and fastest thermometers we've ever tested. We love the option to use a quick forehead scan on wiggly kids or switch to an ear reading when sweat from a breaking fever or thick hair might affect the result. There's even a dedicated baby mode for accurate scans on kids under a year old. While the light-up display is easy to read, we wish the buttons were more clearly labelled. Though the learning curve is a little steep, the Frida Baby is easily one of our go-to thermometers for families.

Likes
The best feature of the Frida Baby 3-in-1 is the accuracy. Whether used in forehead mode or ear mode, it stayed within 0.2°F of our medical-grade control probe, which is one of the best results we've seen with any thermometer. The readings were very consistent, too, never straying too far from one measurement to the next.
The special “Child Forehead Mode” is made just for babies under one year old. This mode adjusts for their thinner skin, giving more reliable infant reads compared to typical forehead scanners.

We also love how speedy and comfortable the Frida Baby is, perfect for kids who are always on the go.
Simply touch the thermometer to the center of the forehead or insert the ergonomic probe into the ear. Ear pulling can be tricky, especially with little ones or when checking yourself, but the probe is comfortable for children over 6 months, and forehead mode is always an easy backup.

Lastly, with extras like a light-up fever indicator, optional silent mode for nighttime readings, memory storage for up to 40 readings, and a handy storage bag, you feel like you're getting your money's worth.
The display lights up red, orange, or green, helping you quickly see whether your little one is running a fever or not.
“Object Mode” is a nice perk for measuring your little one's bottle or room temperature, but the readings can be several degrees off, so use with caution.

Dislikes
Operating this thermometer is a little tricky at first, but once you know the system, it's easy. For example, to mute, you have to long-press the power button. To check your temperature, you have to hit the power button twice. And, the age cut-off for “Child Mode” is not listed on the device or the manual; instead, we had to search for it on a Frida Baby discussion forum.

Also, the lens is sensitive to smudges and grime, which can skew the readings. For the most accurate results, we recommend routinely cleaning the lens and ensuring the forehead and ear canal are free of dirt, sweat, and earwax.

Should You Buy the GoodBaby No-Touch FC-IR202?
If it's within your budget, we think most families will be happy with the Frida Baby Ear, Forehead, and Touchless Thermometer. Quick, accurate readings mean less time wrestling with kids and more time keeping them calm and comfortable. Sure, it takes a moment to clean the lens and skin and figure out the settings, but we think the comfort and reliability more than make up for it.
What Other Thermometers Should You Consider?
If the Frida Baby is too expensive, consider the GoodBaby FC-IR202 forehead scanner. It's easier to use, though it doesn't have an ear reader or special child mode for kids under one year. For the best accuracy in newborns, we recommend the Vicks SpeedRead or Vicks SpeedRead ComfortFlex stick thermometers. Or if you need a smart option to track your child's temperature trends, the Braun ThermoScan 7+ Connect is an accurate ear thermometer with an excellent app.
