Living with the DREAME D10 Plus Gen 2 is very much a “hands-on budget option” experience. It might be missing the bells and whistles of premium models, but it didn't promise them. It's exactly what it claims to be, and we love that.
Out of the box, setup is straightforward, mapping is quick, and it gets a basic layout of your home with minimal effort. The app is simple and usable, letting you set no-go zones and control cleaning settings easily.
In day-to-day use, the vacuum handled routine debris on hard floors and carpets fairly well. It picked up most surface dust, crumbs, and small messes, though larger clumps of pet hair and embedded dirt often required a second pass or a traditional vacuum touch-up. The mop pad does improve floor appearance for maintenance cleaning, but it must be manually installed, washed, and swapped, making truly hands-off mopping impossible.
Navigation was the biggest limitation. The D10 Plus rolled over obstacles far more than higher-end models, including cords and simulated pet accidents, so pre-cleaning is essential. We couldn't reliably leave it to clean unattended in a cluttered home.
Ultimately, this model delivers solid value for the price. For mostly tidy homes, with minimal mopping needs and a willingness to intervene occasionally, it's an effective and budget-friendly option — even if it falls short of the autonomous experience offered by more expensive robot vacuums.
The D10 Plus Gen 2 creates maps quickly and efficiently, accurately outlining rooms and supporting up to three separate floor plans. The app shows a basic layout with no-go zones and allows zone cleaning, making it easy to control where the vacuum goes.
In practice, though, the robot's real-time obstacle avoidance is limited. While it generally avoids thin rugs and minor obstacles, it frequently ran over cords, bumped into furniture, and failed to recognize taller or narrow objects like tripod legs. “There's no real object avoidance with this bot — only object intervention,” wrote a tester.
This robot somehow managed to hit all six of our simulated pet accidents during obstacle testing and was labeled a “cord eater” by testers. Pre-cleaning is essential before leaving the vacuum unattended.
For smaller, relatively tidy homes, the D10 Plus's mapping features provide a useful visual guide and basic automation. But its navigation and obstacle avoidance are not reliable enough for truly hands-off operation, so occasional intervention is necessary.

The mopping system is functional but hands-on. The vacuum drags a single pad across the floor, leaving surfaces on the damp side. While it effectively cleans fresh spills and light stains, deeper messes may require a follow-up pass.
Unlike higher-end models, the mop pad must be manually removed and washed, and the small onboard water tank must be filled before each session, making the process less convenient. Still, for its price, the combination of vacuuming and basic mopping covers everyday maintenance cleaning and keeps floors looking noticeably better.
The DREAME D10 Plus Gen 2 left our carpets notably cleaner. Its cleaning path is neat and methodical, and it picks up most sand and debris without leaving large gaps. In tests, it cleaned about 76% of the carpet, punching above its weight. Lighter messes like rice and small cereal pieces are mostly removed, though a few stray pieces can remain, especially near edges.
Embedded dirt and sand are handled surprisingly well for its class, but larger debris or dense clumps of pet hair may require a follow-up pass. “It seemed to do a solid light clean, even on its highest setting, which was somewhat expected,” wrote our tester. Overall, carpets are refreshed and look noticeably cleaner after each run, though perfection isn't guaranteed. This makes it a reliable option for regular maintenance cleaning on low- to medium-pile carpets, especially in homes where full autonomy isn't a strict requirement.

The DREAME D10 Plus Gen 2 put in a valiant effort on pet hair but fell short of fully clearing carpets. It managed to pick up most long hairs and avoided major tangles around the brush roller, which was a pleasant surprise, but several clumps were left behind.
As a result, carpets still looked a bit littered, and the vacuum required some follow-up with a traditional vacuum for a truly clean finish. “This vacuum made a valiant effort, picking up a decent amount of pet hair and most of the long strands,” wrote our tester. “That said, the carpet was still far from completely clean, and it rolled over several clumps, leaving hair scattered across the floor.”
The sweeper arm and brushroller design made detangling relatively easy, though longer hairs could still catch on the ends, requiring scissors for removal. Overall, it's capable of light pet hair but not ideal for heavy shedding.
