Our Verdict

If you're simply seeking an affordable, lightweight cordless stick vacuum to quickly suck up small messes on hard flooring, the Eureka Cordless ReactiClean 410 might do the trick, just don't expect its performance to shine when picking up pet hair or cleaning carpets. Though this vacuum boasted excellent filtration when we measured air quality with a particle meter, our team of testers ultimately found its battery life to be middling, at best, and feel that there are other, better low-cost stick vacuums that are more worth your money.

Our Analysis and Test Results

With a lightweight profile, great filtration, and solid performance on hardwood floors, our testers were sincerely impressed with some of the performance specs on this affordable stick vacuum by Eureka. For a small apartment or dorm, this could be a reasonable choice. However, it has its drawbacks for larger homes.

Carpet Performance

One of the places where the Eureka Cordless ReactiClean 410 failed to differentiate itself from the pack was in its performance picking up our test-perfected blend of Cheerios, rice, and sand from low and high pile carpet. A smattering of rice and sand was left behind after the 24-second timed test window, but our lead tester felt that the vacuum was so lightweight that it would have been easy to fully suck up the mess in another quick pass or two, with little annoyance.

The ReactiClean 410 did much better on low pile than high pile. On low pile, it picked up 78% of our mess. Meanwhile, on the high pile rug, it only cleaned 37% of the mess. Our lead tester noted, “It left most of the debris visible on the top layer of the carpet.

Hardwood Performance

Our team was impressed with the Eureka Cordless ReactiClean 410's performance in our hardwood tests, where it scored better than many pricier machines. Considering that this unit does not come with a soft brush roll, which is typically ideal when vacuuming wood floors, our lead tester was pleasantly surprised at how well it cleaned up rice, sand, and Cheerios in a short timed trial.

As a result, we feel that this would be an excellent cordless stick vacuum for those who simply want something for quick cleanups on hard flooring or for college students who need an affordable vacuum that can easily suck up most debris.

However, it is only average when cleaning along baseboards. Its brushhead has a bulky design that struggles to get flush with the wall. Still, we were able to clean up most of our spilled coffee grounds, but some still remained in the deepest recesses of the edge.

Pet Hair

Unfortunately, the Eureka Cordless ReactiClean 410 didn't fare so well in our pet hair tests, which consisted of trying to clean 4g of measured pet hair from both low and high pile carpets. Not only did this little guy leave a few clumps of hair behind, it also failed to suck up much of the loose fur, with most of it ending up stuck in the fibers of its brush roller. At the end of our fur test, we only managed to clean 48%, most of it ending up in the brushroll.

Ease of Use

Due to its ultralight weight of just 3.7 pounds, the Eureka Cordless ReactiClean 410 was a pleasure to use for quick clean ups. Our testers found that its brush head swivels and moves incredibly well, resulting in a small, nimble machine that can easily get around dining room tables and chairs. Its smaller brush head also made cleaning stairs easier than with many models we tested.

Sadly, our team did not love the upholstery attachment that came with this device. Not only was it non-motorized, this extra attachment was too tiny to quickly and efficiently clean anything, making for time-consuming dusting and couch vacuuming.

The Eureka did well on stairs. Its small brushroll head worked perfectly for shallow stairs, and it is light enough to lift up with little trouble.

Filtration

Another metric where the Eureka Cordless ReactiClean 410 outshone its competitors was in our filtration category, where we used an air quality meter to measure any errant spikes in air particulate matter while vacuuming up ⅓ cup of flour from the floor.

Filtration Particle Count

Small Particle Count28

Dylos Air Quality DesignationExcellent

This small but mighty Eureka was able to effectively suck up tiny flour particles without kicking up a mess. During vacuuming, we had an average peak particle count of 28, which is among the best. Anything under 75 is considered excellent, so the ReactiClean offered impressive results. We feel that it might be good for those with allergies who need an affordable option to clean hard floors.

Battery

We measured the battery lifespan of every cordless stick vacuum on our list on both its highest and lowest settings, then rated each machine accordingly. Sadly, this Eureka unit only lasted for 24 minutes on its low setting, which was among the lowest scores in our lineup. It did fare slightly better than average on its highest setting, though, with a solid 16 minutes of battery life on max suction.

Should You Buy the Eureka Cordless ReactiClean 410?

While this is certainly not a great stick vacuum for those with pets who shed onto carpet flooring, it might be an awesomely affordable unit for people on a tight budget who simply want to clean up small messes on hardwood floors. Due to its decent performance, small profile, and ultra-low price point, our team also felt that this Eureka could be a great choice for college students.

What Other Cordless Stick Vacuum Should You Consider?

If you've got a little more to spend and want a cordless vacuum that performs significantly better on both low and high pile carpet, we'd heartily recommend our Best Buy award winner, the Tineco Pure ONE S11. Or, if you've got a fluffy friend at home that sheds frequently, check out the Dyson Gen5detect, which was a top performer across nearly every metric we tested for.
