Our Verdict

The Samsung Bespoke Jet is a unique cordless vacuum that immediately grabs attention with its convenient docking station. Its sleek design makes it a standout piece that wouldn't look out of place in a modern living room. It scored well in our rigorous stress tests on both carpet and hardwood. Its all-in-one clean station not only serves as a storage and charging stand, but also lets you empty the dustbin into a hidden 2-liter bag, making the process easier and cleaner than with other stick vacuums we tested. While it performed well on hard floors, it sometimes pushed around already bunched-up larger debris and couldn't pick up dirt right at the front of the head when vacuuming directly against baseboards. Still, everything else is excellent, including attachments that snap on and off with perfectly engineered fits that feel velvety smooth.
REASONS TO BUY

Tends to plow larger material on hardwood

Our Samsung Bespoke Jet Experience

We enjoyed the clean feel after using the Samsung Bespoke Jet. While other vacuums need to be dumped in the trash, this one has a self emtying station that stays sealed. The result? No fine particles released back into the air. Our testers that are sensitive to dust appreciated this feature and noted how well it worked. It also meant we had less maintenance to deal with. When finished cleaning, we could leave it on its dock, empty the contents, and walk away.

The Bespoke runs smoothly in action. It runs across shag with a smooth ride without feeling like it is losing suction. We were impressed with its ability to clean up shag carpets too. Most vacuums struggle with thick carpet, but this is one where we saw great results.

We also appreciate the impressive turning radius, making it easier to swivel around table legs and navigate through tight areas on hard surfaces.

If you can manage the hefty asking price and appreciate the quality-of-life features, such as the docking station and ease of cleaning, we think this is a great choice all around. While we don't love the additional costs of the dustbin bags and wish they landed at a more reasonable price point, overall, this is a great device for families with asthma or allergies.

If you are not interested in the station, the Dyson V15 Detect outperforms the Samsung and is packed with other useful high-tech features. Plus, it comes with more attachments. If you want high performance at a lower cost, the Shark Stratos Cordless is a great option, particularly if you have a lot of hardwood real estate, as it performs exceptionally well on that terrain.

Carpet Performance

What a little crusher!” exclaimed our lead tester. This vacuum is impressive to see at work. It nearly sucked up all the debris in the low-pile carpet test, and it did not backward plow as much as the other competitive contenders.

The vacuum managed a 3-run average percentage pickup of 94%, which is outstanding compared to every other cordless vacuum we tested.

Because this test includes three debris types and a time limit, it's remarkably difficult for vacuums to suck up most of the material. Here are the results of the Shark Detect Pro (left), Kenmore (center), and Samsung (right) from the low pile test.

Interestingly, one run on a low-pile carpet resulted in a clog and a time penalty, but it barely affected the average. Still, any clog gets our attention, and this one occurred when a mass of Cheerios coalesced into a wall, blocking the bin's intake. The mass was so stuck that we had to poke a straw into the intake to knock out the blockage.

Surprisingly, even though this vacuum clogged once on low-pile carpet with Cheerios, it performed exceptionally well on high-pile carpet, successfully collecting all the Cheerios, outperforming many other vacuums in the process.

If you have thick, luscious carpet, this model won't suck as much sand as the Dyson V15 Detect, but it'll be much friendlier to push and pull, letting you easily add a few extra passes to clean your carpets fully.

Hardwood Performance

Interestingly, the Bespoke Jet was able to suck up nearly all the sand while leaving a few bits of rice and Cheerios behind.

We think its performance in this test could have been even better had the cleaner head back plowed a bit less. On our reverse strokes, the cleaner head pushed the material to the end of the test area, making it harder to turn around and reach before the time limit.

This vacuum left more coffee grounds than expected when pushing it into the wall, likely due to the bumper not being motorized. Why would this be a design flaw? When running the vacuum straight into a wall, the roller needs to rotate to grab and bring in the dirt that lingers at the very edge. As opposed to cleaning in the open, the roller can rotate while we're pushing it along, so it can easily achieve turning and grabbing as we push through the house. We're limited when we approach edges.

The Bespoke Jet's wide bumper that's not motorized at the front of its cleaner head prevented success in our coffee wall edge tests.

Those with many long hallways with hardwood floors will likely need to spend more time cleaning their baseboards, and they might even need to break out the crevice accessory tool for near-wall work. If this is a dealbreaker, the Dyson Gen5detect sucked up all the coffee with ease.

Pet Hair

While it was able to suck up short pet hair fairly easily, its nemesis is long hair. Basically, in just a few seconds, 1 gram of long hair extensions would cause this vacuum to instantly shut off and indicate a clog — even though there is no clog, it's just wrapped the hair around the brush tool.

Hair clogs are common among vacuum cleaners and are always annoying, but the Bespoke Jet frequently shuts down automatically, throwing a “clog” error that forces us to stop and cut away the hair before turning it back on. This is what it looked like when we turned over the cleaner head.   Credit: Rachael Lamore

Fortunately, our recommendation here is easy. If a household has many people who shed long hair, buyers will likely want to clean the brush roller more frequently to remove the accumulated hair. It's only a slight annoyance, as all brush heads accumulate hair to some degree, but this one seems particularly sensitive.

Filtration

This model has a 5-layer filtration system and shows that it successfully contained tiny particles, barely spiking the room particulate count. Dylos ranks anything under 75 particles as excellent, and it's an indicator that this vacuum might be good for anyone sensitive to allergens or pet dander.

Going a step further in everyday use, this vacuum offers extra convenience for anyone who doesn't want to deal with dumping the bin after every cleaning session. Just place the vacuum back on the dock and press a button to drop the contents into the bag below. Once the bag is full, pull the tab and toss it in the trash. There are no open bins or dust clouds—the entire process stays contained from start to finish.

Ease of Use

Unlike a wall-mounted stick vacuum, the docking station looks rather nice and can be moved with minimal hassle, although it will occupy some floor space.

It comes with a combination and extendable crevice tool. The vacuum hose is also extendable, which is super useful for cleaning hard-to-reach areas of your home. In our tests using extensions on couches and pillows, the Samsung proved quite effective, eliminating most debris we sprinkled across couch pillows and an ironing board. While it did leave a small streak of coffee grounds, which was surprising, it still delivered a commendable performance overall — and one that many will be able to improve in their own homes with an extra pass or two.

Battery

Battery life is very competitive, delivering a solid 54 minutes on its lowest setting, which should be long enough for most people to clean quite a bit of their floors before needing to recharge.

While just 10 minutes on high power doesn't seem long, this model did so well on most surfaces that most users will not need to tap high power often.
