Our Verdict

For daily computer users who seek to avoid the repetitive strain injuries that can arise from too much time at the desk, the Logitech Lift is a solid option. Specifically designed for those with small to medium-sized hands, this wireless mouse mimics a more natural “handshake position,” causing less stress to delicate wrist and finger joints. Though it's a bit on the heavier side at 130 grams and lacks a grip in its thumb tip region, it still sports some awesome premium features, like a 24-month battery life, adjustable sensitivity, and the added bonus of Logi Options+, a unique software that allows people to customize their mouse buttons' tasks.

Our Analysis and Test Results

We found that the Logitech Lift is an incredibly comfortable ergonomic mouse that offers excellent tracking and precision, great comfort, and loads of programmable buttons for users who love to customize their workflow, but want a mouse that isn't going to strain their wrist or hand when used repeatedly for hours at a time.

Comfort

As a more vertically-oriented mouse that's designed with ergonomics in mind, there's a bit of a learning curve when it comes to using the Logitech Lift. As such, our small- and medium-handed testers thought that its initial comfort was on the average side, while our extra-large hand tester positively loved the Lift, right out of the box. This was a bit ironic, as the mouse itself was designed with smaller-handed daily users in mind. As such, we feel that this mouse would suit most hand sizes well. In addition, we liked that this mouse, while not an ambidextrous design, comes in a left-handed version, too.

The click force required to right- and left-click various buttons and virtual toolbars was solidly in the middle of the pack with the Lift, and one tester noted that he especially liked the thumb rest. While a more vertical ergonomic design might not be for everyone, this is an excellent pick for heavy users who want to keep their clicking hand in a comfortable position during marathon computer sessions.

Though a vertical mouse might come with a slight learning curve, most of our testers ended up loving this design after only a few days of use.

Tracking and Performance

Like many of the Logitech wireless mice we tested, the Lift was incredible at both large tracking motions and smaller, precision-focused movements. One tester even noted that, “While it doesn't have a perfect SRAV% score, almost no one will notice, unless you're a robot or playing on a massive, movie theater-sized screen.”

It also had one of the lowest click latency scores in the entire testing pool.

Scroll Wheel

With hardly any resistance and a great scroll wheel feature, the Logitech Lift was among the top-performers across our scrolling tests. It even earned special marks for sporting a nearly silent scroll wheel. Unfortunately, unlike some wireless mice, this product does not support a true infinite scroll (it's got a feature called smart scrolling instead).

There is this neat feature where if you're scrolling fast, it will automatically engage the infinite scroll,” says one GearLab tester of the company's smart scroll tool. This infinite scroll option can also be slowed with a centrally-located toggle button, like many other Logitech mice we tried out. Another plus? The Lift supports a 4D scroll feature. Simply press one of the side buttons and scroll to activate it.

Though the Logitech Lift doesn't have a true infinite scroll wheel, it does support long scrolls and horizontal scrolling with the click of a button.

Programmable Buttons

This is one of the best wireless mice in our lineup when it comes to customizable buttons. Supported by the brand's great Logi Options+ software, the Logitech Lift can utilize up to eight programmable buttons, plus gestures, to create a seamless, efficient workflow, no matter your industry or daily uses.

The customizable buttons include Forward, Back, Change Pointer Speed, and Middle Click. The Lift works on both macOS and Windows, and we didn't see a discrepancy in performance between the two.

Surfaces

The Logitech Lift did not work well at all in our most extreme surface test, which involved using the mouse on a clear glass table with no mousepad. That being said, it performed decently well on a polished white surface, earning it good marks in our surfaces test.

Battery

This wireless mouse has a top-notch battery life, with the manufacturer claiming that it can last for roughly 24 months, even with regular use. Online users agreed with this metric, with some even mentioning that the Logitech Lift can even exceed its listed 2-year battery life on a single AA battery.

What Other Wireless Mice Should You Consider?

If you're on the hunt for a high-quality ergonomic design, definitely check out our other review article for The Best Ergonomic Mouse, which showcases different models and goes into great detail about how each one performed. If you simply want the best all-around wireless mouse, take a look at the Logitech MX Master 3S, which is similar to the Logitech Lift, but sports a less vertical, handshake-style design. Contrarily, the Logitech M185 is a decent budget mouse with an ambidextrous design.
