Our Verdict
Our Analysis and Test Results
With a comfortable, ergonomic grip that's excellent for most hand sizes, nearly silent clicking, and a friction-free infinite scroll wheel, the Logitech MX Master 3S is one of the best wireless mice we've ever tested. Though it scored well in every category, this mouse truly stood out for its great tracking and superior ability to work on a wide range of surfaces, including a clear glass table.
Comfort
One of the most noteworthy characteristics of the MX Master 3S was how well it scored for comfort across a wide variety of tester hand shapes and sizes. Our medium- and extra large-handed testers ranked it a solid 9 out of 10. The one caveat? This mouse is on the larger side of the testing pool so it might feel just a smidge big for smaller-handed folks.
In terms of click force, the Logitech MX Master 3S was among the easiest (and quietest) to press and maneuver. However, there's a unique button on the thumb side, near the bottom of the mouse, that's a bit trickier to press down.
This Logitech model was easily one of the most comfortable mice on the market, no matter the user's hand size. But left-handed people should know before they buy that this mouse only comes in a right-handed design.
Tracking and Performance
Our savvy crew of testers found absolutely no issues with the tracking of the Logitech MX Master 3S, noting that its precision was excellent across a wide variety of tasks, like quickly signing one's name, scrolling across a long webpage, or passively drawing doodles.
In addition to excellent tracking across larger digital movement patterns, the MX Master 3S was also incredibly precise when we needed to zero in on small, specific motions and click confined areas. It wasn't too shabby for very particular motions, like handwriting and drawing basic shapes and spirals, too.
Scroll Wheel
Boasting a virtually silent infinite scroll wheel and a dedicated side scroller, the Logitech MX Master 3S is the king of scrolling up, down, and every which way your heart desires.
This mouse even comes with a small button below the main scroll wheel that can slow or stop its infinite scroll.
One of the few aspects of the MX Master 3S' scrolling that we didn't love was that the scroll wheel was a bit tougher to click than other models we tried, possibly because of its “4D” wheel toggle. Also, its horizontal scroll wheel has significantly more resistance than its upper scroller, which we believe might be intentional, to avoid a runaway cursor. Overall, this is a wireless mouse with fantastic scrolling capabilities that far outperforms its competitors.
Programmable Buttons
Sporting a whopping 8.5 different programmable buttons, the Logitech MX Master 3S was among the best mice for gamers, heavy computer users, and people who love to dial in their buttons with specific presets and programmed actions. Not so into fidgeting with your computer gear? No worries. The Master 3S works just fine without installing any special software, too.
Not only was the MX Master 3S able to have a variety of gestures programmed into it via its proprietary software, Logi Options+, it can also be connected via both Bluetooth and a wireless USB dongle. Sadly, this mouse does not come with onboard dongle storage, but it does come equipped with a charging cable, and the dongle is teeny tiny, so it would be easy to label and stash when not in use.
Surfaces
The Logitech MX Master 3S is one of the few that crushed our surface tests.
It had no trouble tracking on clear glass, which none other could do. It worked on a fabric couch, an uneven dining room table, cardboard, and a fiberglass desk. If you use a mousepad, you'l have no issues. But, if you choose to work from a coffee shop or want to browse from your couch, you'll be just fine with whatever surface you can find.
Battery
The listed manufacturer's battery life for the MX Master 3S is an impressive 70 days on a single charge (this device uses an included USB-C cord, rather than removable loose batteries).

While it wasn't the longest-lasting of the mice on our lineup, it was still one of the top performers in terms of battery life. We loved that an average user would only need to charge it roughly every two months.
Should You Buy the Logitech MX Master 3S?
Though it's on the pricey side at $120, the Logitech MX Master 3S is a solid option for most users who value ergonomics, programmable buttons, and excellent scrolling capabilities. When paired with its Logi Options+ software, it's a powerful wireless mouse with loads of customizable options and an ultra-comfortable grip for just about every hand size.
What Other Wireless Mice Should You Consider?
Many other Logitech wireless mice scored well in our extensive tests, including the Logitech M720 Triathlon, which, at $40, is a solid runner-up for those who might not want to shell out over $100 for a computer mouse. Our team also loved the Logitech Lift for its awesome ergonomic design, awesome scrolling, and great buttons.
