Our Verdict
Our Roborock Qrevo CurvX Experience
The Roborock Qrevo CurvX quickly became one of our favorite robot vacuums. In testing, this model consistently felt like the fully realized version of what a premium robot vacuum should be. It quickly became our go-to unit for cleaning up after long test sessions because it was dependable, intelligent, and rarely needed intervention.
Features like self-emptying, auto-mop washing, and voice notifications further reduce the need for intervention. As one tester put it, “This vacuum has spoiled me and made me not want to live without these features.”
We never had to clean up before this vacuum ran, as we knew it would avoid tricky situations, like cords, furniture, and even beneath a decorated Christmas tree. We were also pleased to note it didn't eat up thin washable rugs, which plenty of other robots tend to do. One of our testers said, “The biggest win here is that I didn't have to step in and remove an item from the wheel or robot mouth a single time!”
We watched the vacuum make tight, methodical passes across hardwood and carpeted flooring. It even left behind a neat grid in the carpet that screams “I just vacuumed.” Our floors felt notably cleaner, too, even though some deeper-embedded sand was left behind.
Our only major complaint was the subpar performance cleaning up pet hair, which isn't unique to the Qrevo CurvX. Most struggle to pick up fur, but we had to cut out pet hair from the brush roller after it attempted to clean up after our heavy-shedding dogs.
Our team loved the futuristic design of the Qrevo CurvX. Most have a block-like design, but the curved exterior with the garage-like dock seems more modern and sleek.
As one tester put it, “This robot has changed me from wondering why someone would possibly consider spending over a thousand dollars on a robot vacuum to wondering if I should spend a thousand dollars on a robot vacuum.” For those who can afford it, the CurvX offers premium convenience and performance that few others match.
For a more budget-friendly option, the Mova P10 Pro Ultra is a reasonably priced option that most will find suitable. While it doesn't have all the high-end features of the CurvX, it's much more reasonably priced and still delivers solid performance. You don't need the most expensive model to get an effective robot helper at home.
Our Analysis and Test Results
Navigation & Obstacle Avoidance
Navigation is one of this robot's biggest strengths. It builds detailed, accurate maps quickly and correctly identifies separate rooms, flooring types, and obstacles — even labeling detected items with small icons in the app. During testing, it successfully recognized cords, shoes, tripod legs, and even simulated pet waste, navigating around them with impressive precision.
Obstacle avoidance was consistently strong, rarely requiring manual intervention. During testing, the robot avoiding 88% of our set obstacles. It brushed up against a few small items and once pushed a very small object late in a run, but overall independence was excellent. No-go zones worked reliably, and multi-floor mapping was seamless — simply move the robot to a new level and start a new map.
One minor frustration: if obstacles are detected during a messy run, they remain saved on the map and must be manually deleted or the room re-mapped. Otherwise, during its next run, it will avoid the flagged obstacle, even if it had been picked up. Still, the combination of smart detection, thoughtful mapping tools, and dependable real-world avoidance makes this one of the strongest navigation systems in its class.
Hardfloor Cleaning & Mopping
The Roborock Qrevo CurvX excelled on hard floors, showing both precision and power even in challenging scenarios. In testing with obstacles, multiple rugs, and scattered debris, it cleaned around objects effectively, picking up most rice and nearly all Cheerios. Sand remained in small patches, particularly within the obstacle-heavy areas, but open-floor zones were nearly spotless.
Edge cleaning was especially impressive, with the vacuum following walls flush and sweeping corners, leaving only minor smudges near raised tape or tight edges. “This is basically the only vacuum that cleans along the full length of the wall on its own,” wrote our tester.
The mopping system also performed well, handling dried coffee stains and wet messes with tight, neat zig-zag passes. While the robot doesn't wash its pads mid-task, the floors were left mostly dry, and multiple passes removed nearly all residual debris. Overall, it combines careful navigation with strong cleaning power, making it highly effective for routine maintenance on hardwood and other hard surfaces.
Carpet Cleaning
On carpets, the Qrevo CurvX delivers a consistently thorough surface-level clean. In our carpet testing, it cleaned up about 79% of debris. It maintains tight, deliberate passes across the floor, leaving the overall area looking neat and refreshed.
Large debris like Cheerios and scattered rice was handled efficiently, and the vacuum rarely missed spots, even along edges and corners. The pattern of its cleaning is impressively organized, giving a sense that the robot “knows” where it has been.
Deeply embedded sand and fine particles are more of a challenge. While the vacuum picks up a significant amount of debris, some grains remain lodged in the carpet weave, particularly in thicker or high-pile areas. Despite this limitation, the visual impact is minimal, and for regular maintenance, the Qrevo CurvX does an excellent job keeping carpets looking tidy without requiring extra passes.
Compared with other high-end models, it balances surface cleaning and autonomy impressively, making it a strong choice for homes where cosmetic carpet care is the priority. You might need to put in a little work for a deep clean once in a while (but also try not to pour sand on your carpet like we did).
Ease of Use
The Roborock Qrevo CurvX is impressively user-friendly, combining intuitive app controls with smart automation.
Mapping is straightforward, and multi-floor setups are handled effortlessly. The vacuum reliably returns to its starting point after cleaning, making it easy to set and forget. The app provides detailed cleaning patterns, obstacle indicators, and customizable settings, including cleaning intensity and obstacle sensitivity, which helps users tailor performance to their home.
The app includes surprising features we didn't even know we needed, like remote camera viewing to check on pets and real-time messages that explain exactly what the robot is doing.
The only big issue we had was deleting existing mapped obstacles in future cleaning, as described in our navigation notes — this isn't a dealbreaker, but wasn't something we wanted to deal with multiple times.
Otherwise, the app was easy to use. Even first-time users can navigate the interface quickly, making this model one of the most approachable premium robot vacuums we've tested. The robot itself has just two buttons on board, one for power and the other for returning home.
Pet Hair
Pet hair remains the biggest weak spot for the Qrevo CurvX. While it does a solid job with surface-level debris and can roll over large areas of hair, it tends to ball up strands on the brushroll rather than fully collecting them.
Long hair can get caught at the ends of the roller, requiring occasional manual trimming, though the overall amount is relatively small. Even in deep-clean mode, the vacuum struggles with dense clumps, leaving carpets only partially free of hair.
It's capable, but households with heavy shedding pets may need supplemental cleaning to get carpets truly hair-free. We ended up needing to cut out some caught-up fur in the brush roller as well.
